    I have a habit of clenching my fists and also hitting objects casually - esp when I'm anxious. Weird, I know! I'm trying to stop but I do have knuckle pain. Anyway to stop that? Also, my thumbs hurt when typing on my keyboard. Anyway to counter that?

    im 23 and i started experiencing this back in pandemic last 2019. the twitching still persists until now and i really feel ashamed of it. im working as a nurse and it bothers me whenever i have to face a patient while twitching. last year, i was diagnosed with hemifacial spasms and i was prescribed with clonazepam. i cant continue taking it tho cause it makes me so drowsy. although i noticed that it made me feel more relaxed, thus the symptoms can be controlled. its already 5 years now, and i realized that when i am tensed and nervous, the ticks get triggered. also, it twitches the most when "i feel conscious about it". funny thing is, i started telling my dates about it on our first date so that i wont feel too self conscious to hide it. that way, i wont twitch more often. im glad to find this video. im in the philippines tho, is there anyone here who can help?

    I started having this a couple years back. Left eye twitching. I tried botox a couple times that made it worse as my eye lids now dropped and i was unable to open the eye fully. A friend at work suggested seeing a chiropractor and who helped fix my posture and I realized the same things mentioned here. I get this more when I am stressed or worked up. 2 things. 1. With the chiro and changing posture habits I am able to open the eye normally. 2. The twitch still happens but less frequently and I can manage it by focusing on relaxing, fixing posture and gently massaging my face. Hope this helps.

    HFS is when an artery is pushed against most likely against the 7th cranial nerve, in order for the twitch to stop you need to have the nerve moved away from the artery. The nerve is twitching due to loosing the protective myelin shield which has been rubbed off by the friction between the artery and the nerve.

    I have Autism and ADHD and do this too. Dancing and singing are both types of stimming. Like, before overstimulation/big emotions lead to an autism meltdown, pumping my arms, dancing, singing, yell-ranting into an empty house, or doing something low stakes, but hands on; like writing something 10 times on a sheet of paper, or running my hands through a ton of buttons, or playing with something like clay or dollar store slime As a descalation method, a lot of therapists pour a bit of coffee or watery paint onto a sheet of paper or canvas and have their patients tilt the paper in various directions as they try to keep the liquid from spilling. It pulls your mind and body back onto the same track and results in some dopamine boosting abstract art.

    HI Lena, thanks for the video. I know you mean well but just to give you some feedback...if you are going to explain something on a video, specially when it comes to a medical condition... try to at least make a video that is clear enough so people can at least try the basics. I know you want people to go and find out more about the Alexander technique but it would also greatly benefit you if you give a video that is clear and well thought out. Just my two cents. Thanks again.

    Hi, do you know the name of the tense muscle in the neck that's causing the facial twitch, or where exactly it is?

    • @LenaHartAT
      @LenaHartAT 2 роки тому

      Often it is not just the neck but a pattern of tension throughout the body. What I have found is that by relaxing the entire body, you can temporarily stop the twitch. Would you like me to try to find a teacher near you? Where are you located?
